If ever a story was more aptly named than this one, I am not aware of it. To steal from Burnford, this story was incredible. A number of animal stories have some hefty sadness in them. This one, however, is full of perseverance, loyalty, healthy fear, and, ultimately, triumph. It is a glorious story of friendship and adventure. Animal lovers and naturalists will find much to love in Burnford’s storytelling. And this one offers so much goodness for a lively book club!
